With a remanufactured basic engine from Mercedes-Benz, you benefit from a long-block engine in which the entire crank assembly including the cylinder head, valves, injection and much more have been completely overhauled and installed using only Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts. The genuine remanufactured part basic engine is the perfect middle ground between swift repairs and cost-effectiveness: The long-block engine is 30% cheaper than a complete engine. Choosing a basic engine also ensures that your vehicle is back on the road more quickly because it is generally available more quickly, and only the larger detachable parts such as the turbocharger need to be transferred from your old engine.
In addition to the basic engine, we offer other engine variants depending on your needs. First, the short block or long block, which also belong to the category of long-block engines. These are cost-effective solutions if the exchange engine still contains a lot of fully functional components. Second, the remanufactured engine, which is a worthwhile, high-quality investment if you want your car back on the road again as quickly as possible.

The basic engine offers numerous benefits. It is a fast replacement option for engine damage such as damage to the crankshaft, where the cylinder crankcase and cylinder head or the injectors are damaged. It can be installed more quickly because unlike the short block, it is shipped with injectors, the cylinder head with preassembled valves and lots more.
When you choose a Mercedes-Benz remanufactured basic engine, you receive an up to two-year guarantee2) because we are confident that the functionality, longevity and quality meet the very highest requirements. Engines undergo extensive testing and endurance trials. Each basic engine is tested on a test stand prior to shipment to ensure that it meets strict series production criteria.
And for your returnable used engine, you'll receive an attractive allowance against the purchase price.
Thanks to standardized Mercedes-Benz quality, you can expect a genuine remanufactured part basic engine that has a long service life and is extremely efficient. Specifically, this is because all rotating component parts such as the camshafts and crankshafts are precisely balanced in line with the current technological status of new part production. Furthermore, all wear parts, such as seals, bearing shells and pistons, are replaced with new parts.
