How does an electrohydraulic controller unit work?

The electrohydraulic controller unit acts as the "shifting center" of the automatic transmission system and links the hydraulic and electronic transmission control. It consists of a hydraulic controller, electronically regulated control solenoid valves (including sensor system) and a fully integrated control unit. It is also connected to the vehicle's CAN network, which means that it can also process signals from other control units and forward the commands to the various transmission components.

Depending on the sensor and CAN input signals, the following actuators are controlled:

  • Switching valves and solenoids
  • Electrical transmission oil pump
  • Hydraulic parking lock controller
  • Electrohydraulic parking lock release
