What are the product advantages of the Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured clutch plate?

Quality on the level of a new part at an attractive price: The genuine clutch plate as a remanufactured part includes the current series-production specifications and thereby always fulfills the high Mercedes-Benz quality requirements. Power transmission from the engine to the transmission thus functions in a safe and reliable manner.

How does a clutch plate work?

As a disengageable connection between the engine and transmission, the clutch has components that are rigidly connected with the transmission.
On the engine side, this is the flywheel, on the transmission side the clutch plate. In the case of an engaged clutch, the clutch plate is clamped between the flywheel and the pressure plate by means of a spring. These components can be frictionally connected/disconnected from each other. If the driver releases the clutch, the drive plate is pressed against the coupled friction lining and establishes a friction-locked connection. If the clutch pedal is pressed, the connection and thus also the power transmission are disconnected. A gear change occurs.

The clutch plate is also provided with a hub profile that is turned via a pinion for the engine starting procedure. The different numbers of teeth of the clutch plate and starter drive pinion ensure a quick vehicle start-up.

Nowadays, the clutch plate is an integral part of the single-plate dry clutch in most vehicles.

How to recognize a defective clutch plate:

  • Sliding clutch
  • Strange noises during gear change
  • Noticeable vibration and jerking when the clutch is engaged
  • Pedal does not return to its original position
  • Inability to change gears
