With a Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured basic engine, you will receive a long block in which the complete crank assembly including cylinder head, valves, injection system, etc. have been fully reworked and assembled exclusively with Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts. Your Mercedes-Benz Van will thus remain an original – even with high mileage and a low budget.
The basic engine as a genuine remanufactured part is the perfect balance between rapid repair and high economic efficiency: The basic engine is approx. 30% less expensive in comparison to a complete engine. Choosing a basic engine also ensures that your vehicle is back on the road more quickly because the engine is generally available sooner, and only the larger detachable parts such as the turbocharger need to be transferred from your old engine..
In addition to the basic engine, we also offer other engine variants depending on the customers' requirements. First, the short block or long block; these are also part of the basic engine family. These are cost-effective solutions if the exchange engine still contains a lot of fully functional components. Second, the remanufactured engine, which is a worthwhile, high-quality investment if you want your car back on the road again as quickly as possible.

The basic engine offers many advantages. On the one hand as a quick replacement solution in the case of engine damage such as crankshaft damage in which the crankcase and cylinder head or the injectors have been damaged. It can be installed more quickly because unlike the short block, it is shipped with injectors, the cylinder head with preassembled valves and lots more.
You will receive an up to 2-year guarantee2) for the Mercedes-Benz Vans basic engine, as we are confident that the functionality, longevity and quality fulfill the highest requirements. This has been proven by extensive testing and endurance tests. Each basic engine is tested on a test stand before delivery to ensure compliance with the strict series-production criteria.
And for your returnable used engine, you'll receive an attractive allowance against the purchase price.
Due to standardized Mercedes-Benz quality, you can look forward to a genuine basic engine as a remanufactured part that has a long service life and high efficiency. Specifically, this is because all rotating component parts such as the camshafts and crankshafts are precisely balanced in line with the current technological status of the new parts. Furthermore, all wear parts such as seals, bearing shells and pistons are replaced by new parts. Your van engine will thus again be like a new engine with low fuel consumption and agreeable smooth running.
