What are the benefits of a Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured variable intake manifold?

A variable intake manifold from Mercedes-Benz controls the air supply in the cylinder, helping to ensure

optimum engine output and low consumption. If the variable intake manifold fails due to wear and tear,

Mercedes-Benz offers a cost-effective solution in the form of a remanufactured part so that you can get

your car back on the road again as quickly as possible.

How does the variable intake manifold work?

The air required for combustion is guided through the variable intake manifold to the intake valve. The

performance conditions for the engine have various requirements regarding the length of the manifold.

The speed at which the air enters the cylinders is crucially important here. This should be as high as

possible, whatever the engine speed.

The torque at low engine speeds should be as fast as possible, which is best achieved with a long intake

manifold. At low speeds, however, the power output should be as high as possible. This is best achieved

with a short intake manifold. The electrically controllable flap system in the Mercedes-Benz variable

intake manifold ensures that both these requirements are fulfilled. So the air is routed via the short

inflow path at high engine speeds and via the long inflow path at low engine speeds.
